I have been following this with intense interest. It is extremely sad to say, but it is my belief that Ms. Halloway is now deceased. Too much time has past for her to still be in captivity and the police to not have tracked her down. Most criminals are boastfull and time has proven that more often then not criminals talk themselves into jail rather then police finding them out.
That being said it is likewise very sad to see the judicial system in Aruba NOT working very well under international scutiny. While I realize that this is not a U.S. territory or even a protectorate of the U.S., it was my understanding that Dutch law enforcement operated under similiar procedures as our own.
I have read posts in these forums and others that bring some very harsh language agianst Ms. Halloway and her family. That these posts are cruel and illogical goes without saying. I made a trip to Aruba when I graduated in 1991, there was as little if any supervision then as I am sure there wasn't with Ms. Halloway's class. I am aware of the drinking and partying that went on with my class trip as I must imagine went on with this one. My point is victims should never be blamed for the situations placed upon them by criminals. Ms. Halloway's social standing or even lack thereof shouldn't be held agianst her either. It is almost like some of these posters are trying to say that it is OKAY for something this tragic to happen, like she deserved it because of who she was born too or raised by.
In general to make a long post a little shorter, some people should really, at least try, to THINK before you write or say something stupid.
If this doesnt apply to you, then don't worry about taking offense to it. If the shoe fits however, then it is my sincere hope that you do in fact think before posting.
Thats my two cents for today.

To be honest I dont think there is much chance on her being alive right now and if she is then she probably disappeared by choice. You never know what could be going on in someones family life that they may not care to go back to regardless of the way they may be portrayed by the media.
Why she left a club with 3 men could be anything, they may have forced her, druged her or it could have been by will. The posibilities are endless. I do feel bad regarding the situation because I do have a child myself so I can imagine what her family is going through, I too probably would not give up home and continue to search since there would be a void in my life.
However I do think that this happens often, its sad but its another reason why I dont watch the news. Its too depressing. I practically get all my news from these boards. |
todays news, elvis was found after a 40 year bender on shrooms, lsd and diet coke
