Very interesting indeed, since freedom of religion and freedom of expression are both fundamental rights and not mutually exclusive.

It only becomes a "battle" when we introduce phoney-baloney "rights" like the "right" to marriage. Make whatever argument you like, but gay marriage was never a freedom of expression issue, it was a "non-discrimination" issue, which is an entirely different part of the Charter.

A true right should never violate any other right. When that happens, it ceases to be a right and becomes oppression. Seems like oppressive "rights" are the new fad these days, since you're seeing them everywhere - anti-trust laws, pit bull bans, junk food bans, fast-food lawsuits, dwarf-tossing bans, low-carb labelling bans...

Don't get me wrong, this isn't meant to be an argument against gay marriage - but if I ever hear of churches or synagogues being forced to marry homosexuals against their will then I will be packing up my bags and leaving this country for good.
