Agreed...which I took into account after the fact. I never would have, but I was in the moment, and also figured that since it was one of HIS records, he wouldn't mind a simple request, especially since DJs tend to put their own productions into their sets to begin with. I realized later, he likely did not appreciate me asking him to play something, and as a DJ, I understand...you play records that YOU want the crowd to hear, not what they're requesting (though you do have to have the ability to know what they will like).
...but, it's also INCREDIBLY rude to treat somebody elses record like he did to mine. I went out and paid my hard earned money to support him, not only by seeing his show, but also by purchasing his music. Additionally, it was a limited edition, coloured vinyl from the Just Be 4-pack. I don't care who you are or why you're irritated, but you do NOT do that to somebody elses music, ESPECIALLY vinyl, ESPECIALLY limited edition, and ESPECIALLY when that person has made a point of supporting you in more ways than one!
I don't say DJ Tiesto sucks because I think it's cool to do so. I like some of his productions, but I honestly think that DJ Tiesto is shit when it comes to DJing. I don't get why people say he takes you on such a 'Magikal Journey' ...Paul Van Dyk does a way better job of that than I've EVER seen or heard Tiesto do, either when seeing him live, watching his DVD, or hearing a set from the net. His mixing skills suck, and he does not deserve to be #1 DJ in the world. He did not get the crowd moving, he did not build the music like a good DJ should, and he most definitely did not take me on ANY kind of a magikal journey...DJ Tiesto sucks, plain and simple.
Just my opinion...
