... so there is a trance scene in italy my dear armin ( not the real one )
when you say that there is a trance scene, do you just mean that some of the big dj's play there once in a while? Because what I really want to know is, is the scene big enough for local prog/trance dj's i.e. me, to go over and find a job in a club somewhere. And will it help my status as a dj rise? From the sounds of things it unfortunately doesn't sound too promising.
I have a few friends that go to Italy and the scene isn't real big to begin with. They listen to Italo dance and yeah Gigi and picotto are big over there, not my personal favorite to begin with. I highly doubt they have any Local DJ's like the ones you're asking about, they're not really big on that.
However, Good Luck

Apart from Nu NRG, I can't really name any big progressive / trance DJs from Italy. It doesn't say everything, but I think it surely is an indication of the liveliness (or lack thereof) of the progressive / trance scene in the country.
There's also Joy Kitikonti. And I think Benny Benassi's Italian as well.

I highly doubt that those two are what he was looking for. That's why I didn't mention Mauto Picotto either, since he was looking for progressive / trance DJs.

Imagine, April 16th in Paris, and an outdoor party... It was only 10 degrees Celsius, there was no alcohol available and 7.500 people were still going completely bananas!!!
I thought that was absolutely awesome! And it shows finally, that you can enjoy electronic music without any stimulances and still have a great night! Finally we can leave that image behind that you need any kind of drugs to enjoy electronic music.

Italy has the most-cheesy dance industry of Europe I guess.
Guys like Gigi, Ponte, Prezioso, Ross etc. For holiday it's nice music, happy music. But if you want realy trance u musn't go to Italy...but if you wanna have fun on cheesy- dance Italy is THE place to be. Altro Mondo, Carnabi, Baia are nice clubs
Why is it those Italo-dance tunes always a male vocals? Just something I 'm wondering...
