Apparently "experts" are still sceptical to this website (saw that on a danish news site).

But bad news to wake up to. Yesterday London was partying because of getting the olympics, and now this. Crazy world.

Such a disappointment... 12 confirmed dead, dozen are critically injured. Madness..

I think there's a common consensus that this world has gone mad, but I've been thinking about when did this world decide to turn on its head and go nuts??? I only noticed that something's out of place back in about 1996-7, but that was in my adolesent years where I began to lose my innocence (for various reasons that I wont get into right now ) and come of age, but bands like Rage Against The Machine have been singing about a fuct up world for many a year before then... Where did it all begin, and obviously when will it all end??

Report: Islamic group claims responsibilty

Canadian Press

Thursday, July 07, 2005

CAIRO, Egypt -- A group calling itself "The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe" has posted a claim of responsibility for the series of blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The statement was published on a website popular with Islamic militants, according to Der Spiegel magazine in Berlin, which republished the text on its own website.

"Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan," said the statement, which was translated by The Associated Press in Cairo.

The authenticity of the message could not be immediately confirmed.

"The heroic mujahedeen carried out a blessed attack in London, and now Britain is burning with fear and terror, from north to south, east to west," the statement said.

"We warned the British government repeated. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success."

"We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan," the statement went on.

It was signed: "The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe."

Well the BBC site is working now, looks slightly wierd however on the homepage layout from its normal look.

The Al Jazeera website I am referring to is http://www.aljazeera.com/me.asp?service_ID=8876 not the english.aljazeera.net/HomePage one. In the commentary section under the story of the explosion you have readers responding saying they got what they deserved, etc, etc. That is expected however if history is any precedent. The site is slow as ever so takes a long time to load. Amazingly the commentaries have now been disabled until Saturday 11am. Wonder why.

Maybe cos alJazeera is not as biased as you are told to believe?

It has always amazed me how such people seem so comfortable in justifying blatant murder, while proclaiming to be righteous in their cause...

My natural instincts tell me to get angry and emotional over this situation, while a notion of common sense keeps the balance of logic and emotion in check. I feel so frustrated, not directly because of emotions tied to this attack, but because I feel helpless in that I cannot rectify the problem and bring an end to this vicious cycle of hatred.

At least 45 dead and 1000 wounded. This sounds to me like the description of chaos. I guess that death toll will be going up during the day. When Madrid was hit, the numbers also started low and increased as the extend of the disaster became clear.

There were four explosions, 26 confirmed dead with fatalities confirmed at one of the other sites but number not confirmed. Thats from the live media report from the police

The reason we got reports of 7 is because the explosions did not happen at stations (or some of them didn't) but went of on trains between stations

I agree. It seems to have been a long planned attack that just waited for the opportunity and security to loosen in order to be carried out. It seems to be too big to be carried out by anyone else except islamic militants.

You seem to have me mistaken, so let me clarify, I am not accusing Al Jazeera of anything but rather was commenting on the posts that were made by those readers who read the story and submitted a statement afterwards. In no way did I assert that AlJazeera was making such statements but rather the readers of AlJazeera, got it. No one has to lead me or tell me to believe anything, I read more than enough news sources from around the world to formulate an opinion. If you have seen my posts on here in the past that would be apparent.
