Well my first real street bike was a 1990 Kawasaki 600R ninja and it has never disappointed me. I had the same problem you had though, deciding between the 6R and the 600RR. I can already tell I made the right choice though...I think the styling of the kawasaki is better, not to mention it has a bigger engine(636 vs 599) and a slipper clutch.

But in the end...ride both and see which one fits you better!

kawi, honda, yamaha, suzuki are all world class bikes these days.

the 600rr is alright but the power band is so smooth you dont really feel the raw power, which is what a lot of people look for in their sport bikes after theyve been riding for a bit. The 6r and the 6rr are both wild bikes with the 10r and 10rr being nearly uncontrollable.

The kawi engines are fine, youll have to do tune ups every 15k miles or so just to check and make sure, their biggest issue has been timing chains affecting valves. Other than that, golden. and its not really an issue with the regular maintanence.

the Hondas are nice and reliable to 200,000 miles but who rides that much anyway

so yeah...nice bike
