As mentioned earlier, promo vinyls are promotion vinyls that are pressed in limited copies 3-4 weeks before the actual vinyl release.
They often come without the full packaging and are mainly for Dj's who want to play out these tracks before the actual release date. The idea behind promo vinyls is to gauge the tracks potential.
Some promo vinyls are available at the online record stores for the public to purchase whereas some are only pressed in extremely limited numbers(50-100) for the A-list Dj's to spin at their parties.
These come at a higher price, often 2-3 pounds more than the regular price.
You should go in for the promo if you REALLY like a release and can't wait for the release date. Otherwise, it would be wiser to wait and get the same vinyl cheaper.
If you are confused what to buy, look at Chemical Records for instance. Search for any record that you like and look at the info of that record. It will also list other releases that customers have purchased(often similiar in style). Same thing with Juno.
