personally, I am not impressed (nor unimpressed) with the melodies... Anyone with some musical knowledge can create melodies like that easily.
But...if you show me how you can arrange things into a track then I will be impressed. =)

If you think everything you make in FL is too loud, try to lower the volume on the "Master volume" slider.. The volume level i use is just below the middle... approx at 45%

he's got a point tho, you need to be able to use your melodies in a solid production if you really want some credit. you don't need a sophisticated melody to creat a killer dance track
"hydra - affinity" is such a simple melody but it became a classic cause the production is flawless
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I disagree with the others... I like the second melody a lot and think it has a lot of potential. I think it could be made into an awesome track. I'm hearing a break in my head with a piano playing that says so...

Yup thats true, just listen to "Delerium - Silence (Tiestos ISOS Remix)" The main lead is quite simple but that song became HUGE!
And is in my opinion one of the all time best songs...

No its not a VSTi bass... I've used two different bass sounds at the same time.. one bass named Simple Synth Bass_s
And the other one called Bee swap
You can find the synth bass in the browser in FL-5. "Packs\SimSynth\Instruments\"
the other one is located in "Packs\Drumsynt\misc"
If you want the same sound in a bassline use those basses.
Cheers

I agree with you on that. That second one is my favourite of those two also

I don't mean to hijack this thread nor to show off, but in response here is one of my melodies of a track I made a while ago.. I am not completely satisfied with it because I found it too be too much cookie-cutter trance and I don't believe I did the best in the arrangement of the track.
Anyways... My point is work on the arrangement... Get the track as a whole to sound good... Anyone with some musical background can create melodies... Only someone good can transform a good melody into a good song/track.... For example, take the melodies of suburban train and Faithless - Insomnia and it is nothing special... But it is the track as a whole that is special
I say this because I see too many people these days they just focus on getting 1) a melody, 2) a kick, 3) a bass, 4) a breakdown, 5) percussion and that will basically be their trance track... Create art, not mass-produced template trance...
My point: You're melody is neither good nor bad until I hear the whole track. So get producin'
