No an M1R (Korg m1 in rackmount form)
I dont use softsynths at all so cant advise on anything that could make it sorry!

The one you do want to make is a really simple synth bass -plenty of presets you can tweak to taste. Just dont go overboard on the resonance and drop the cut off slightly on a 'synth bass' preset- id hedge my bets he used a preset of some sort on that part too

It's perfectly ok. Im really glad you made the mistake. I love knowing which hardware synths originally brought us certain tones. It's good information to me. Thanks. You really seem to know this stuff well. I hope that maybe in the future you could help me figure out where other sounds came from. That'd be dope.

Actually, Robert Miles used the following:

1] Korg 01/W, close but no cigar on the M1. This keyboard was his main controller.

2] Kurzweil K2000R - Most of his sounds came straight out of this.

3] Lexicon LXP15 multi effects processor - This is how he thickened up the sound and gave it an out of the box reverb type of sound.

4] Akai MPC60II - this is what he sequenced most of his percussion on.

5] Yamaha NS10 - These were his monitors during initial tracking

I know all this because... I asked him. If you want to cut all the bullshit out of the way, go straight for the source. Apply that to everything audio, music, and even life and you'll do just fine.
