Well one of my on-line acquaintances was goin' to pick him up from the airport. His current residence is in Santa Barbara, although he'll be back to living in the Bay Area soon. Anywho I remember from an AIM conversation a few days before that Saturday, hearing how happy he was getting the opportunity to pick George Acosta up and drive him to Amplified, him being a fan of his music. So imagine his let down when he drives 5 hours up North, goes through the typical airport hassle, waits for a delayed flight, introduces himself to Mr. Acosta, extends his hand in common courtesy and the ****** doesn't even bother to shake his hand. In fact he straight up tells him that he's not going to shake his hand and dismisses him. Instead he has his "Assistant" speak for him, since he is too good to talk to other people. They were also there to pick up a few other house DJ's that same day from the airport, so since they're keeping the all omnipotent Acosta waiting, both him and his assistant can't help but speak out their mind at being kept waiting for their ride. And when they finally get their bags loaded and are on their way to the venue in Hayward, the drive there is totally silent, Mr. Acosta looking as bored and ungrateful as ever, perhaps wondering why he wasn't being driven in a limo, being fed grapes into his mouth by 2 coked out bitches by his side.
I will admit, there seems to be a touch of unprofessionalism given in handling the transportation situation of a so called headliner, but the type of arrogant and snobbish attitude acted by a DJ so full of himself, he has assistants spare him the use of his precious tongue muscles, is ridiculous. Needless to say, my acquaintance lost all respect for Mr. George Acosta that day, and is no longer a fan of his music. I personally don't blame him, and I myself refuse to support a person whose arrogance can't even allow to say a simple thank you for a few people who took the time out of their own schedules to accomodate him for his performance. Stay in FL Mr. Acosta, we don't need anymore of your kind here. We got enough conceited wannabe celebs here as it is. |
funny how you say that. a few years ago we booked him for a party in vegas and when I saw his contract I could not believe this guy. He specifically wanted a full case of red bull *and required it was red bull and not another energy brand*, 4 bottles of a very specific champagne, a hotel with specific ammenities, specific type of needles/cartidges (dont dj's bring their own needles if they are picky?) and some other crazy bullsh*t for his rides/perks. The sad part is that he has not produced any hit tracks or have insane mixing skills. Has he earned his spot as the "AmbASSador of the US". I dont think so.....
