in my perspective cd1 looks very good a lot of new materia and stuff he has not played recently. cd2 is more a carbon copy of his recent sets and although some tracks look good we already know how everything sounds.

the biggest dissapointment is the fact that there is so much shit missing from what he said he was going to include, where the hell is that banging remix of say hello? its supposed to be in here, also i remember him saying in some interview that there was a special track he was producing for this cd called "politics" if i am not mistaken, there was also supposed to be a remix of a track from the second album so dont know what happened to that either.

he should onyl release cd1, cd2 is too familiar to all the public.

^ i guess Paul rather grabs some easy money with this comp and after that he can grab some more money releasing that say hello remix seperately. And knowing Vandit that remix will be released summer 2007 probby.

For this 2 b rleeaed in September with no new material really is pretty poor on PVD's part imo after all the hype surrounding the tracklist.

unsure of what I think of the tracklistings.

dissapointed that 'Michael Hill - Voice Of Angels (Tribangelic Mix)' isnt included but there again, im not the DJ whos mixing it.
Including perasma made up for the dissapintment slightly.

Why is KvA - falling anywhere includede, also, why are there 17 songs on the first cd, far to may songs.

Re: Paul Van Dyk - Politics of Dancing 2 (September 05)

shame on him for including these tracks
they either make it worse or stale in every case. the only thing that could redeem this is if his remixing of such tracks is outstanding - like of solid sleep's club attack

Burn

Tracklist looks as boring as Fawk! Been there, done that. It does look like a recent ASOT compilation which pretty much means to me a bag full of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's

POD 1 is one of my favorite compilations, especially CD 2, and I have huge expectations for this one. I agree though, there's definitely a severe deficiency in killer trance cuts lately. But still... we get cookie cutter mixes like this one I guess.

Looks like a big disappointment unfortunately....

TPOD1 had 17 and 16 tracks on each CD too. So your criticsm goes nowhere.

to be fair some tracks were used as functional interludes in tpod1 so therefore weren't really played out but bridged the mix nicely

No one of us heard the mixed but all start to judge the CD on their tracklist.

There are at least 10 tracks that I've never heard, and thats a good average out of 32!

Tracks like Summer Dream or The Other Side haven't been put on any other compilation till now.

Many of the tracks aren't released yet.

I don't think the tracklist is poor. OK, it's far from TPOD1 but I think its impossible to reach the standards from 2001 today. How could Paul put outstanding tracks on TPOD2 if there aren't any??? Today we have no Club Attack, Into the Night or Rapture.

And one thing: Look at TPOD2 with the eyes of a "normal" trance listener. Not like us that get a PvD Liveset every month and can download new tracks months before they will be released. Yes, for internet junkies like us, some tracks are old, overplayed and boring...but I think we represent only 1% of all trance listeners. The average trance listener will be satisfied by this compilation for sure!!!

I will buy this CD and I'm sure I like it and listen to it more than one time. It's the same with ASOT 2005 or ISOS 4. Most people here on TA were disappointed but I like both CDs. ISOS has so man beautiful tracks, only the mixing is terrible. And ASOT 2005 has a lot of good tracks too and superb mixing by Armin with Ableton.

So maybe some people should have lower expectations. If not, they'll be disappointed each and every time a new CD comes out. And of course: no one forces you to buy this CD
