That's always been my pet peeve.

- It's annoying to get dozens of incoming calls in a short time span on my land line.
- It's more annoying to get even one incoming call on my cell when I'm driving or doing something else important.
- It would be *incredibly* annoying to get call after call on my cell while I'm in the middle of something.

But what is truly ridiculous are these girls who just stand there and make one OUTGOING call after another - and usually don't even end up talking to anyone on the other end (maybe a voice mail). It's like they are desperately searching for someone, ANYONE to talk to. I can only assume that their motivation is one or more of:
a) They believe it projects the image of popularity (why they need to project such an image to complete strangers is beyond me);
b) They are the type that can never stop talking and get antsy when there's nobody familiar around to listen; or
c) Putting their phone away would be lowering their shield of neverending distraction, thus leaving them open to the possibility of *gasp* social interaction without their protective phalanx of girlfriends.

Not to say that guys don't do it too... they do, and it's equally annoying and stupid, but I just don't see it as often.

Personally, I view cell phones as a necessary evil in life - not as toys or status symbols.

Amen to the comment about cellphones on the last post. Ever since getting rid of mine I have more money (That's what getting rid of Rogers does) and more peace of mind.
I think people who use those headseats are trying to pretend they are upper class with a status or they are just attention whores.

Many business people use it. Its truly an efficient new toy when you have alot of incoming calls...especially in real estate.

I would only use it if i was as busy as those big time real estate agents.
