I wouldn't call the US government stupid...they are smarter than they appear due to how much $$ they're making from their actions (moral or imoral is not the question)

With a deficit of 413 billion (11 Trillion Real deficit) last year, and a terrible economic record throughout this administration I dont see how they are doing much money. If your talking about bush`s friends making money, well thats not really the point of a governement, quite the contrary so they are terrible.

Also a hike in the trade deficit of over 20% to record levels of 600 billions this year even with an ever dropping dollar is not proof that the US governement is doing a very good job
