according to the creators of the track, most books on the history of electronic music, and a lot of people who used to party at the music box on a weekly basis, the track did not exist before 1987, it was not played in promo form or any other form, the first night it was played was in 1987 by ron hardy, it was played 4 times in the same night, the night in which ron hardy received that tape in his booth from pierre & spanky, ask any of the jaded acid house fans who were around at the time, and i'm sure they can even give you the precise date.

furthermore, the music box did not shut down in 1986.

True, but hardly anyone on this site was a "scenester" in Chicago, or whereever, in 86.

I suppose the documentary book I've got, with interviews from Pierre, Spanky and Jefferson, plus all kinds of "jaded house fans" is wrong then? Shit, these producers must be so far gone that they tell different things to different biographers, eh?

I have it open in front of me. I'm not dragging this out of the air, Mr Green Rolleyes.

And Ian^, you were five years old too, you patronising fuck. I don't suppose you spent much time on the Chicago house circuit, did you? No? Well perhaps you should shove your "he's just a kid" line of reasoning back up your arse then, and maybe once contribute something of vague worth, eh?

it shouldn't be redone and the next task should be doing the 1988, then the 1989 and so on until the first year that it was already done in TA. no point going back even further to a time where the people on here barely have knowledge on (that's why i haven't voted neither nominated anything for '86 or '87, i recognize a couple of titles but that's it)

if your book states that the music box shut down in 1986, i wouldnt trust it for any more 'accurate' information.
you'd be wise to do the same.

and not only did they (the producers) told different biographers different things, they told me different things.

and yes, i'd trust the word they given to me, and to 'last night a dj saved my life' and to a whole lot of other sources.

plus i'd trust a band of more than 300 jaded acid house fans that were around at the time, when each of them tells me the first night acid tracks played was in 1987.

No, that's why I claim to have EDM knowledge starting at about 1990 or 1991 through the various genres i've gone through, and If i need info I goto reliable sources, not take the word of someone like you. The mere fact your tastes include warp brothers yet bitch about some of the most famous & succesful tunes of dance history immediately disqualifies you from that list however

Hehe. Tell me the difference between The Prodigy's Out of Space, and the Warp Brothers' Blast the Speakers. One's the only good track said group ever made, the other is one of many, many great tunes by said group. The similarity is that they're both cheesey as fuck, and still monstrously good tunes.

And please, what famous and sucessful tunes have I "bitched" about? I'm listening to Acid Tracks now. Great tune, love the cow bell. I'm just going on what my documentary of the Chicago scene tells me. The only reason you don't believe my word is you think that it's less valid if someone aged 17 reads it than someone three years older. Which makes you a prejudiced prick really, doesn't it? And someone who needs to appreciate a bit of cheese once in a million years.

our sources conflict. which is correct is up to each one to decide objectively or subjectively.
in any case, are we done with this arguement?
