Sakin you are so right!
After all 2001 has shown me that it was fucking good for trance, first I saw that there were more progressive, but now so many have been proven that they are such great tunes, and there are still so many vinyls I want to get from 2001!

Indeed Tiesto, Corsten & Co (NOT Gielen!) got more into progressive, but HEY, they have done some fine ass tracks this year!
So you could CRY if there would be no good tunes at all!

Peace!

I think that the trance of 2000-2001 was shaded by the success of HardHouse and UK Garage. WE didn't see the tunes we liked become successful, and thus we began to think they were shit! For some reason, after Ferry Corstens REmix of Barbers Adagio for Strings, trance producers felt like they couldn't live up to the greatness of THAT remix, and didn't try as hard to make good tunes. SO they went off and started producing in a new genre : progressive (I personally hate progressive) Like in any music, once u filter thru all the crap/commercial rubbish, the good tunes stil l stick in your mind, as our man here has shown in his list! But Like everyone else, has siad, 99 WAS the best year for trance. why? Gouryella, Lange (remixes), System F, Tiesto (remixes), Lucid, Nalin and Kane, Energy 52, Faithless, Chicane. Need I say more?

Trance revolution

I mean really everyone is a dj these days....
Im willing to bet half of you are amateur Djs
And with the advent of the internet its too easy to send you stuff across the world.
What would happen if everyone dressed like Nirvana and tried to play his music during his time? really bad situation. The quality gets shot to hell...

I mean its really to easy to be a dj these days
producer a diffferent story..
helll im getting my turntables around christmas

these soo called artists Paul Oakenfold,Dee Mark
DJ Kim
Square
4 Strings
High-Jacker
Jay Frog
Yves Deruyter
D.M.E.
Funk Einsatz
Cosmic Gate
Mat Silver Vs. Tony Burt
Webdrivers
Cyberstorm
Angel Of Death
Kai Tracid

use to be just a regular joe
they decided to pick up some turntables like U or I one christmas
and the record labels with the big demand for DJs these days just throw this joe into a party and he will bring back money

I mean I could say these dJs are trying to live up to the great sounds of 96-97-98

but in reality they arent, but rather just in it for the popularity aspect of it and some money

to be conintued..

99- was the best year for trance. But since it was so good, in 2000-01, producers couldn't live up to the standards that they had created! Instead, Uk Garage and Hard House eclipsed all the good trance. In effect, as we couldn't see our favourite tunes become successful, we thought they must be shit! But it soensn't amtter if its a success or not, if its good, and the general opinion of it in the clubbing community is good, then who cares if it was a success or not? But 99 WAS the year of trance. Why? Gouryella, System F, Stunning Tiesto REmixes, Chicane, Lucid, Nalin and Kane, Faithless, Veracocha, Binary Finary!

lolz

Ha.....any year with cosmic gate being considered as a major artist has to be a dismal year. This year in no way compares to 1999
1999 had -- paul van dyk vs. tilt- rendevous
system f- out of the blue
and the even had a trance dj named dj of the year- Paul Oakenfold so whats ur problem....2001 was average but i still be jammin to all of binary finary stuff from 1999

just wondering what everyone's opinion is on the two kinda branches off of trance seen...ie progressive and hard house. personally, i love the hard house scene but can't stand the progressive vibe(way too boring!) also, i think 2001 was a better year for trance than many people give it credit for. however, it really was the years of hard house and progressive.

White Bird and Back To Earth

DJ Mind-X : since he's produce with his mate " Fridge " and they guys from Vectrex / Dogma he really kicks asses
offcourse he made some wonderfull tracks on 98-99 together with Snowman .. Tandu.. Thorsten Stenzel.. Framic etc
but my favorite are still those from this year (expect the " Esperanza 99 Remix by Mind-X & Framic " )

DJ Tiesto : never love'd this productions that much.. only tracks from him i like are " Theme From Norefjell, Sparkless*rmx*, WHen She Left*rmx*, no more tears *butterfly mix*
and i think they're all from 99..

Airscape : yes! 0 tracks i like from 2001.. 99-2000 he created very nice tracks!

PVD: same as Airscape.. but never like'd that guy much

DJ Snowman : only good tracks from 98-99 together with mind-x

Fridge : from 94 till 2001 .. allways Amazing tunes¨!

Dogma / Vectrex : since they created it.. 0 bad tracks! allways top!

Alex Rocco : same as Vectrex/Dogma

Sunbeam : still onwage

Safri Duo : just a big lol expect the future breeze rmx of baya baya
