your better to have a few songs that you could play next, ie. for each song have 3 or 4 songs which mix nicely into it, then you will have a lot more freedom on where to take your set next.

do you spin off vinyl or cds?

assuming you spin vinyl then you should buy a few dj tool's, with beats, accapella's, scratch samples etc. You get some really good house ones, & some of the beat samples can come in handy for the records that stop pretty abruptly!

songs simillar to Solid Groove - This is sick could be pretty good to mix into them if you time it right.

if your using cds the just loop the end of it.

yeh if its cdj then loop it. Alternative method is if you have a laptop in your setup then rip the track to the lappy then play it from that and use the looping function withing the DJ software (I use traktor). I dont have a cdj but I have a pc and thats how I mix those tracks with tricky endings that just dissappear abruptly.

Thanks for the advice guys! I use mostly vinyl so it looks like I'll have to look out for some dj tool type records to help bridge between tracks with bad endings.

By the way. Does anyone put notes on records? Like just to remind yourself about something in the song (ie: cue points, what is happening when the song is ending, or how the bass sounds). I find it hard to remember everything about every song I have so I was thinking about doing this. Thanks!

im exactly the same. Im thinking of doing this quite soon. If anything it will make your mixes/mixing better i reckon since you'll be choosing better matched tracks

iv never done that, but its a good idea!

anythin that helps you know your tunes better cant be a bad thing!
