It works sorta like the following. Technically there are say 30 million combinations in a given lottery. But its easy to reduce that number.

For instance.

a) The chances of every number being Odd is much less likely than a mixture of odd and even numbers, so my formula removes all the ticket combinations that only contain odd numbers. (i.e. 3,7,11,23,33) vs (4,12,14,21,37)

b) The chances of every number appearing close together is extremely unlikely: So a winning number being (1,3,4,8,9) is much less likely than (11,13,19,25,42)

etc.

At the end you get a 1 in 10,000 chance of winning. Much better than 1 in 30 million.
