Why call him a fool?
I happen to know a guy who recorded the sets tiesto14 was referring to, and he had the top of the line microphone (since he wasn't allowed to plug his MD into the master line-out on the decks), but I guess the recording levels weren't set right and therefore the recording came out not that good... the bass was too loud.
But he managed to grab a great recording of Armin Van Buuren + Orkidea's set a few weeks ago, here in Toronto, and those came out pretty damn good, considering there were people yelling all over the place... so, the idea is, you can come up with a great recording of the sets even when recording only with the mic, but you need to set the recording levels right.
