@Yoepus: LOL. When will you Zionists understand that your cause meets little or no sympathy in international fora. One would have thought that message was getting through by now - apparently not.

Exactly, liberal is all about being liberal, not about being not liberal like it is in the US

Ok, so the "natural" part is really a misnomer.

Yeah, as long as we agree that no natural monopolies exist, I agree with George Smiley that they should me nationalized.

"Liberal" is really one of those words that have been totally abused to the point of losing its original meaning during the Kulturkampf in the US these last years. "Freedom" and "liberty" are two of the others. But as you yourself said that democratic ideals should be used for determining what the semantics of a word is, you should really start using "liberal" in the perverted sense.

liberal and libertarian are not even close. libertarian is more of a practical conservative that laughs at most liberal beliefs and critisizes many conservative beliefs.

In the US yes, but i think someone liberal in Europe would be closer to a libertian than a democrat aka US liberals

So damn complicated. What's the point of this again? I'm sure we can all predict each others arguments by now. At least the old schoolers.

Don't worry, this whining and complaining will only go on for about 2 more months

You're not the first one who's sig got edited Youpes. Although I thought your sig was funny, it's understandable how some might find it offensive. Remember Zig, the irish dude who used to post here not too long ago? His sig was "100% Liberal" and that was the first one I remember being removed. I don't even understand how that could possibly be offensive.

Anyways, I think it's stupid to ban sigs because they're political. Bring back the mustard!

I went with other, since I don't adhere to any one ideology, they all have they're pros and cons. If I were to consider myself anything, I guess I would be somewhere between Socialist(not to be confused with communism, and I know many ppl aren't aware of the distinction between the two) and Libertarian (in the American sense) and Anarchist(no, I don't believe in choas and disorder, by Anarchism I mean constantly questioning the legitimacy of authority, if a Goverment is corrupt/tyranical, it needs to be torn down and replaced by a new one).

hmmm. its difficult to find a balance between theoretical idealism and some form of practicality.

anywayz, im kinda like shaolin, a mixture of libertarian & socialist perspectives. maybe even throw in some neo-con (apparently) too (tho neo is such a bullshit wanky term)

on a grand scale, id like everyone on the planet to be able to enjoy the freedoms, safeties & opportunities that ive been lucky enough to receive. whichever ideology fits in best at the time.
