I thought it was cool remix, But why the hell call it Out Of The Past - Mystery when it's blatenly obvious that it's a remix of Union Jack - Two Full Moons And A Trout, Why they call it that, Is beyond me, Heh.

hehe, you're right.. i even heard that snare once in a prog record

that said, i quite like Fred's production. it's not groundbreaking at all, but there's plenty of energy and the vocals work quite well in the breakdown.. i've never heard it on a big system, but i'm pretty sure i'd throw my hands in the air.

it's just a matter of taste again really.. i like both versions, but it's really hard to compare them. they create different moods..

it doesn't even qualify as a remake IMO.. the vocal probably comes from some random sample cd.

cos armada have pulled a "scooter" and changed just enough to not pay for it, but know that there's people who will buy it regardless of how bad it is, while us older trance fans just get our walking sticks out in preparation for the beating we'll give to anyone who plays/buys it & if we see Armin

yeah i thought so too. there's nothing similar except for the vocals. and they could be off any sample cd, just like the vocal sample in for instance prodigy - smack my bitch up can be found in a few other tunes aswell.

The only way this would qualify as a remake or remix of sort, If they were to also use the piano melody that was in the original track, But they just used the vocal samples, Your right, It's not a remake at all, But something completely new, Take Obital - Halcyon +On+On, It uses vocal samples from Opus III - A Fine Day, And it was completely original.

i'll start by saying i dislike armin, dislike 90% of fred baker productions over the past 2 years and liked the original 2 full moons

before this became 'mystery' (the final version has an extended drawn out break with more chord changes.. doesn't work as well imo), i thought it was a fucking good track. all it does is sample the vocals from 2 full moons so you'd be hard pushed to call it a remix in the first place; yet as soon it started getting labelled as 'two full moons and a trout (fred baker remix)' everyone starts comparing it with the original and slating it purely because they like the original. why? it's a completely different fucking track surely? totally different mood & overall feel to any of the original mixes, just uses the same vocal sample

don't get me wrong i don't expect everyone to like it.. but atleast judge it by its own merit and not just because it 'ruins a classic' (which is frankly bullshit, not one classic remake has *ruined* its respective original). not that everyone in this thread hasn't... and i agree it could be considered generic... but still

and i'll clarify.. it's the original bootleg i'm on about, that tiesto played. not the new version armin is playing, which is getting released... i don't like that version

(apologies for the poorly written post, i'm tired)

I agree, the new version is far less appealing, just as all the "new and improved" versions always turn out to be.

Ex. Motorcycle - Around You

Dave if you're reading please release your version
