the thing is turntables are pretty simliar to each other. THere isn't a huge difference between them. All layed out about the same etc. Mixers on the other hand vary greatly.

see with the stantons....they have 8% pitch adjustment just like technics the only complications i see is getting used to high torque and key correction whereas the technics doesn't have those features

a table can have all the torque it wants but most cheaper alternatives cannot hold a pitch (i think this is wo and flutter). I have tried the stanton 150 against my 1200's .. it just didnt keep up.. It drifted alot quicker. Nothing wrong with making more adjustments , but I would rather have that time to mess with the EQ's and such.

For the price, you cannot argue. Although, I bought 1200's right off the hop , and was glad I did.

Find some you like and use them...

Besides, torque means aboslutely nothing in this day and age. A lot of companies try using this as a sales advantage against the Techs.

Means relatively little unless you are a turntablist and even then not sure how much you would gain from it.

It's so seldom these days that I get to play on decks other than Techs so couldn't tell you about how they work in the clubs.
When a lot of people talk of decks on this forum they think in terms of bedroom DJing which is fine. But cheaper/lesser decks can run into problems in a proffesional environment.

The techs were designed for Radio stations initially so have a lot of other build advantages with regards to response and how they are affected by external factors.

There are good decks being made so always try before you buy.

Cheers
Nem

That stat doesn't say how OFTEN it does it. I have heard (skratchworx) that these will easily play a side of vinyl (so, say 10 mins) side by side and not drift one bit from each other.

By the way, the Technics wow and flutter 0,01% WRNMS, (from Technics website Technis
The Stanton is less than 0.1% WRMS Stanton ST-150
