i hope you enjoy it man, they are really cool little computers for the money!

Cheers buddy, hopefully all will go well.

A quick new question for all of you to just tie everything together... Actually 2 questions.

A) is the soundcard on board the Mini good enough?

And

B) What size monitor is best suited to SSL? Ass i'll be buying a monitor devoted solely to SSL

Thanks lads,

nelly

a. if you are using rane's SSL, then dont worry about the soundcard. the serato interface takes care of all that. if you are gonna be using the serato software by itself without the rane hardware, then you might wanna upgrade to like a M-audio USB or Firewire interface. however, this will only effect your acutal audio output meaning:

if you are running this computer into a large PA system, yes get a better soundcard, if you are going to be recording on a secondary device (MD, Dat, DAW, or audio CDRW) then yes, new soundacrd.

if you are gonna be recording your set on the minimac or broadcasting over the net, then the soundacrd wont make much of a difference.

use the soundacrd in the mini to get started, if you need to upgrade you can do it later.

b. whatever monitor you want. the mac mini had DVI output and comes with a DVI-VGA adapter. so any monitor will work for it. the only monitor that i dont think the mini will handle is the 30" cinema display, because it uses a layered DVI signal.

u can use a DVI or VGA monitor, LCD or CRT mac or whatever. dont sweat the monitor, as long as its big enough for you to read, you will be fine.

Feel free to PM me or hit me up on aim if you have any problems hooking things up.

cheers bro!
