But i only download trance mp3s lol and i guarantee not one trance artist would give a shit if u downloaded his or her shit becuase i download the mp3s then i buy the vinyl i dont see why mp3s are bad for electronic music because if it wasnt for mp3s i would never have discovered trance and electronic music. i understand why its bad for pop shit cuz there only profit is cd's but for most electronic base music its vinyl.....and full sets i know are not copyrighted so they should be allowed, there should be like a electronic music napster type program lol.....well thats my opinion.
What the hell?? Am I the only one who has been getting mp3s long before napster was even conceivable?? Does no one remember kermit which later changed to OTH?? I mean really, napster simply takes what was already there and makes it accessable to the average shmoe. The death of napster cannot and will not kill the mp3 community...because there is still IRC, and FTP sites...even if that somehow get killed off, I can still rip my friends CDs to mp3 and stil get free music..dont worry, mp3s will not leave, and as far as napster goes...sure, it would suck if it gets closed, but c'mon, it wont be the end of digital music..they can't stop that

I used to collect MP2's.
They sounded shitty, but that's the only copy I had of Dune - "Million Miles Away From Home" in 1996

mp4...???
I read somewhere that the mp4 was gonna arrive soon... It was supposed to be a lot smaller and actually have a winamp-style player built into the file. Thats what i heard, anyone know aything about um?
I dont think the mp3 community will dissapear completely, to be honest it would have been better if Rio hadnt have brought out the mp3 player. Although a very cool music player and everything (i own one) all it succeded in doing was grabbing the authorities attention and point them to the mp3... Think about it, before the mp3 player, there wasnt any bother about where u got ur mp3's from, coz no-one official knew about um!!
Peace

Anyway napster is dead, for us Belgian people, they gonna sue some people for using napster after they got a warning to stop copying, and starting from tomorrow they gonna use a special device which will locate a few thousands of users in one minuet that are downloading(they say),and I read in a newspaper that there was an agreement that they will shut down all acces to napster for european people, all fucked up people that decided that!

True...
But Napster made mp3 easy accessible and findable... I'll miss that.

Napster will turn into a subscription system one day, and probably die off. But what are they gunna do about all the 50 million people who have 400-500 mp3's each already, thats a hell of a lot of files to control. File sharing is here to stay.
