I never tried the tan booth. But I do use Neutrogena Build a Tan every now and then especially on my legs cause they are white. Any amount of sun I get I just freckle more especially on my face and chest. Grrrr so yeah tanning lotion works for me..use your palms though to apply and not your fingers or you will have streakey zebra lines.

I did the mist on tan thing a year or so ago and had no problems. Definitely preferred it over a tanning bed where you are still exposed to the damaging rays. I was told to make sure that I got rid of any dry skin patches before I went in and that if I was diligent about covering my nails, knuckles, joints, heels etc with their moisturizer, vasoline or cream (whatever they have to offer you) I could avoid getting the darker patches on those places. I made sure to follow all the steps in the video they made me watch first and I came out with a very natural and non streaky tan. The colour pretty fast but it faded very evenly as I didn't have any streaks from the initial spray. It pays to take the time to get your skin prepared for the spray properly and not just jump in and out. I'd recommend it and do it again....but china white is in baby...who needs a tan.

Bahahaha, that is -exactly- what popped into my head when I opened this thread.

I don't get it... we've had such a blazing hot summer, why not just get a real tan?

I'm what they call pigmently-privleged.....which is also known as being half black and half italian and having a pretty nice skin tone...
so i can't really help in the instant tan department.. HOWEVER! i can help out in the bronzing area!!
Clinique Self-Bronzer dude!!its not really a self tanner but basically brings out the natural glow people have in their pigment and its works really well.. its really subtle so its not like crazy but you can see the difference within the first 10 mins and its pretty natural looking.... its kind of expensive though.. (about 30 bucks for a tube thats not too big,, but it lasts) but i'd have to suggest its use to keep up an already achieved tan
most of the ppl that i know that have gone to the mist tan haven't been fans.... but they have those new like self-tan toilettes which would probably cover most area quite evenly and also i heard that the Nutragena Self-Tanning Foam is pretty good too!

Exactly what I use - the Clinique bronzer (for men)- evens out the skin tone and doesn't make your face breakout........I mix it with little bit of Aveeno Skin brightening lotion (contains silk) and it goes on nice and smooth and you have a healthy glow!

Bronzer - 18.00 at the Bay for a 60 ml bottle.

Highly recommended!!

Make sure to exfoliant first as with any product that is adding colour to your skin the rough patches on the skin will darken slightly more. Some women get the parrafin wax treatment and that helps to take of it for the elbows and ankles, knees.....etc....

A good exfoliant product for the face is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

www.dermalogica.com

it is a rice-based enzyme powder.......extremely fine powder that makes a paste in which you apply in circular motions over the face to slough away dead skin cells and prepares the skin for your next beauty regimental steps.

A lot of exfoliating products contain harsh rough grains and can actually create microscopic lacerations on your face. Highly recommended for fairer people as the skin is usually thinner and less oily. With colloidal oatmeal, papain, grapefruit extract, Gingko and salycyclic acid and tea tree..........you have many things at work here. The regeneration of skin cells with the fruit extracts, the calming of the oatmeal, tea tree oil extract is excellent for blemishes and blackheads for its astringent properties........

Just eat alot of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids (fish/flax/hemp oils) and that take care of things from within - which is just as important as to what you are putting on your face!

But with the mist on tan - just make sure you are completely dry before wearing your clothes......I would even suggest doing it the night before so as for the skin to absorb it properly.

hope that this information is found useful for somebody
