Just use 3+ decks and an fx unit and you won't run into this problem.

Or learn to scratch.

i agree i see this a lot. crowd interaction is def a good thing to do at this point... if i'm at a place that has more than 2 tables then I usually end up planning the rest of the set and cueing up other tracks

yeah i like to mix in a lot of stuff... keep it fresh, so i love having 3+ decks...

you know add in a accapella here or there... throw in some Breakbeats durring a break down or something
or mix up like 3-4 tracks at once, but just add snipets from each...

or play with an efx if there is one...

but if iv only got 2 tables and a mixer... i go play with the crowed lol

Yanno, this situation just happened to us this past weekend.

We went to the Vinyl (Denver CO) to see Gabriel & Dresden. It so happens they didnt even get to play on the main stage... they played upstairs at the SkyBar (bar on the roof of the club).

Anywho, the guy that was spinning on the main floor was doing just that. Standing around, without his headphones going nuts with the EQ. Its only obvious he's not doing anything. The sound didnt change at all and he had quite a few goofy looks while twisting the EQs.

To end the night, G&D were awesome, and the afterparty at my pad went til 9am.

I have my next gig all planned out:

During the breakdown of a really eipc track, I'm gonna whip out my wang (I call him "The Captain") and slap a club ho in the face with it.

I'll be the talk of the town : )

Ferry is an especially consistent offender in this category

I still love his shows though
