Ok, so tell me what the point is if he doesnt win anything, or gets in lets say 100 place, who really gives a fuck where he gets. No one will say ohh welcome the number 100 ranked dj in the world..blah blah, but that wont even happend, because 100 people propobly voted for him anyways, so its stupid in my opinion. Only the first DJ uses the number dj in the world phrase. And the number 1 spot will propobly be won by PvD, Armin or Tiesto. I mean is Mikey even a DJ or just a bedroom DJ who mixes just for fun.

Many of us know that the DJ Mag Poll is a popularity contest. However, many of the kiddies don't. By voting for Mike we hope to get him anywhere on the poll. The chances of him getting near 20+ are close to impossible, because that would require tens of thousands of people to vote for him. We would be ecstatic if he placed at 100. Why? Our point would be proven; all it takes is enough people to vote for you and you're on.

We're doing this to prove that, sadly, you don't need talent, you don't need an original sound, you can be some "idiot bedroom dj", and you can be an all around "douche bag" according to some people, yet you can still place on the poll.

Thanks for explaining it again, and i know, i get the point what you guys are trying to do, and we know that is true that you need certain number of people to vote for you. You guys might find DJ Mag Poll stupid but thats the only poll related to any sort of Trance DJ in the world..its not like there is a congress that chooses the right DJ for the number one vote, but why waste a vote when i can give it to Armin or Tiesto or someone else.

Therein lies another reason that many of us support the poll.

The DJ Mag Poll is very, very popular amongst EDM artists. The artists who are ranked high on the list are very popular. Popularity leads to large, inflated egos. Two examples of this are Oakey and Tiësto. They were great, no doubt about that. However once people started loving them they went downhill for the money and fame.

Armin has been accused twice of trying to rig an American poll. ASOT started out great, but once he gained a very large fanbase his show became bland, because he decided to stick to a sound that would keep the numbers on his side, rather than experimenting with new sounds. His entire show is now Trance because of it, whereas it used to be comprised of Trance, Techno, and other genres.

Any more reasons?

I agree with you man that its a popularity poll, but this reason that you guys are doing is not the way to beat it, not even close, so either way someone will get the number 1 DJ and Mikey wont win it for sure.
