progressive trance is da best...i can dance to it all night long, as long it has sense to it the style of musik that Nick Warren spins is progressive, trance and house, plus some breakz
i really dont understand some of you people here...why do u come here and make a thread like this? its really useless, becuase noone will get to the point in here...progressive is trance btw if only you understand it and i dont mean progressive house, but progressive itself were all tranceaddicts, so lets appreciate it
real tranceaddicts listen to every gender of trance and they really love it
bleh...no point describing anymore

well for me personally, i can listen to progressive when i'm home or chillin, but at a club, i dont like it at all... now theres some really good progressive trance that kicks ass, but it lacks that energy that epic and uplifting tracks have that make me move... so i'm not dissin progressive at all, im just sayin that for me it's place isnt at a club...

For me....it was a gradual progression from trance to progressive. When I first started listening to this music...I was on a trance kick for a very long time. EPIC EPIC EPIC! That is all I wanted to hear. Then...I dunno....I just started to hear sounds in the progressive beats that hit a different chord inside of me. Don't get me wrong, I still love epic, but not as much as I used too.

I think for me, progressive is the next step in the evolution of trance music. All of my cd's in my car are progressive...and all the records I buy now as well are progressive.

I just go to what my ears like to hear

Peace,
Steve

Shame / Disagreement

Ok people ... these discussions are very pointless cause they are all about one's TASTE (which changes with time ... i know this cause i am in the scene since .. oooh god knows ... begining of 90's), it leads no where so just drop it.

(this may be irrelevant)
Everyone tries to be technical or mister know it all about things ... and what the problem is, is that these people usualy tend to be so called newcomers ... if someone is to be technical or whatever it should be someone like me ... but i am not and i've never been nor should anyone else ... it's stupid... just enjoy in what you like and "share it" with others.

Everyone has their own prefrence like i do, progressive .. Later.
(oliver lieb all the way )

As for me...

As for me, I love UPLIFTING that caries Energy in it. Especially in nightclub, oh my, that drives me sick, ....progressive make me sleep.

Sometimes i stick to progressive trance, when I need to fall asleep fast, Progressive is the one that does it.....

Too much of progressive feels like boring instructor that talks with monotone voice for 2 hours non stop......The whole class is usually sleeping.

I am listenning to Johan Gielen lately, i think he does prety good job mixing Up. and Prog. together.

i would think that trance would be better to listen to at home and progressive at a club because to trance you can just chill but prog has a strong beat to it.

I agree that Progressive does have a strong beat to it... So strong, it drowns out the music, in fact in most progressive songs, it nearly completely replaces the music.

But, I disagree about trance being for home/chill listening. I can't find much to dance to in house music, but with trance, there's several rythms, and melodies, along with the beat to dance to.

TRANCE is Music with a beat, House is a beat with some music.

I agree with danilo on this one. It's all about taste. There's really no point in having a Progressive vs Trance thread but it's definitley cool to see who's into what.

For me, I still like trance the best but it's a lot harder to find now. A lot of the progressive tracks out now are kind of dull (for lack of a better word). It's not so much music you can dance to but good chill music to listen to at a cafe or something.

Basically, if I want to party, I want TRANCE. If I want to chill, Progressive is the choice for me.

We can beat this thread to death if we want to...

Confused I never really understood this!!!!!!!

What the is everyone talking about?? u say TRANCE & PROGRESSIVE as if they are 2 seperate musical genres entirely!! Progressive is a type of Trance...(eg. Progressive Trance, dream trance, epic trance, melodic trance, uplifitng trance, vocal trance, eurotrance, hard-trance) it's all trance......just different "versions" so to speak. I personally prefer the epic, uplifting, dream trance....but I also love alot of vocal and eurotrance. Don't get me wrong... I like my fair share of progressive... I just prefer the former.

U can't just say progressive....cause they also have progressive house.,progressive rock...etc.
