If people would have abided by the MANDITORY evacuation.. then it would be this bad.... but instead 100,000 people decided that this storm wouldnt have hit.. and they could tough it out.

What exactly is Michael Moor's fat ass doing for this? How much of his bullshit 9-11 movie dollars is he donating to this relief effort?

I agree 100% with you! I think he puts it out there rawly for people to see what the government trys so hard on hiding. I respect him for that even though I don't agree with a lot of his stupid ways.

Michael Moore is such a fool. I just love how he always tries to place the blame on Bush. Russ is right, its not his fault.

do you not realize that most if not all of those people simply COULDNT get out? not everyone has a car, and enough money for gas to drive 300 miles and enough money for weeks of staying in a hotel. jesus.

i cant tell you how many fucking times i saw on the weather channel (before katrina hit)..."THIS WILL BE A CATASTROPHE." i'm no meterologist, but i think i know storms pretty damn well and i knew this shit was going to happen. they talked about new orleans being below sea level being a problem for atleast a full day all over the news before the storm hit. how come it took bush THREE FUCKING DAYS to get off his ass and realize there was a problem.

all i'm saying is, with A LITTLE bit of planning before the storm hit A LOT of these people could of been saved of the pain they are going through right now. and thats why bush is an idiot. EVERYONE knew it was going to be this bad, and it still took 3 fucking days after the fact for it to sink into bush's retarded ass head!

Dude...let me say this to you. You can't blame the people who stayed behind even if there was a MANDATORY evacuation. There are many people who underestimate the power of a hurricane and NO ONE really thinks of the worse possible scenarios, well at least not everyone. Take a perfect example of Hurricane Andrew and all the people who stayed in their homes. Fact is people even underestimated Katrina when it was coming here, I am guilty of it. I know it was NOWHERE near bad but it did more than MANY expected.

What exactly did Bush do the day right after??? He didn't exactly hurry and fly his ass to see the damage, he was still on "vacation". I'm not say Moore is the voice of reason, because he can be a dumbfuck but don't sit there and defend Bush as if he were the perfect humanitarian president.

the amt of services needed throughout the entire gulf region are absolutly enormous... the logistics of getting any sort of equipment to NO that wasnt already damaged (which means this stuff ala equipment came from a long way away... like 150miles +) would take a hella long time b/c of the roads and rail all messed up.. plus getting that many troops and services and food and supply there that quick for 100,000+ people in a matter of days? nobody could have predicited it to have gotten this bad..

one of the main problems i see is that all food and all shelter was gone immediately so the food and water situation was also needed immediately.. reason why the situation got anarchic (is that a word?) in a matter of 2-3 days...

just the defense dept bringing in that many troops to help out when all of 4 days ago they (the national guard) were at home watching the storm on TV like the rest of us.. then next day get the call to all ship tons of equipment down there..

and now they say an active army brigade from N Carolina is coming to help (from 82nd airborn) and those guys were for sure sitting on teh couch watching this on TV getting ready for their upcoming iraq tour in a few months... to get a call that everythign has just been changed for 2200 people to reorgainze all them and equipment to get there...

im suprised they've done what they have so far...

movement of this many people (the military) that fast is impossible...

im very anti-bush but the gov. has actually done well and responed in all the ways it can... gas prices are like the least of their worries now... lives and the well nature of the people is 1st..

ok im done...

btw.. __nut__ i see somebody else has also taken their quantitve analysis classes on climatological stats... i know you are meterology major..

TA is mostly anti-bush...

Dude.. they had a week to prepare for it. They knew a CAT 3+ was headed their way.. and Louisana did NOTHING about it. There were people still in the last hour in the French Quarter drinking hurricanes because they did not think they were going to get hit. That is the LOCAL AUTHORITIES FAULT.

If people couldnt afford to leave town... then they had a LAST RESORT shelter called the Superdome.. so thats no excuse.

i cant tell you how many fucking times i saw on the weather channel (before katrina hit)..."THIS WILL BE A CATASTROPHE." i'm no meterologist, but i think i know storms pretty damn well and i knew this shit was going to happen. they talked about new orleans being below sea level being a problem for atleast a full day all over the news before the storm hit. how come it took bush THREE FUCKING DAYS to get off his ass and realize there was a problem.

so.. what exactly should the local and state governments supposed to do?? just sit there and let Bush do everything?

Look.. this argument could go on for days and days... but you dont see these problems happening in Mississippi and Alabama do ya?.. and the reason.. because the local and state government prepared for this... unlike Louisana.

Bush isn't a super hero. You can not fully avoid big disasters like this.

what can he do if the ppl can't even help themselves. He can't save everyone.

maybe it took him 3 days to go there because water was up to peoples roof tops.

YEA.. im sure Bush made no phone calls and sipped cocktails the entire 2days after this happened. Stop believing shit that Moor and the left wing media is throwing out at you.

Whatever... this argument could go on and on.. so believe what you want.
