Are clams and oysters the same thing, or what?

I ate a few oysters once and.....well....I just don't get it.

little neck clams served raw are pretty good too, has a really sweet fresh taste to them.

Raw oysters rock --- lemon juice, cocktail sauce + salt = ownage (tabasco or tapatio sauce can be used as substitution for the cocktail sauce.)

Oysters (cooked) with black bean sauce are very tasty.
