You think all the people dancing in a club really give a crap whether you are playing on vinyl or cd? No. All they care about is the music period. Not once in my life have I ever seen someone walk up to a DJ and tell them they suck / are stupid for playing on cd's. If someone walked up to me and said that, i'd laugh in their face. Look whos "watching" and look whos "playing". I really want to spend hundereds of $$$ to get my new song pressed on a vinyl just cause it "looks cool". Get real. Unless you plan on selling them, its pointless to get your stuff pressed. Cd's, vinyl, they do the same thing, play music. I like vinyl better b/c its easier to mix on to me than cd's, but thats not gonna stop me from buying a cd or a track that you wont find on record, or out of print stuff. Some people here have the lamest arguements.

to end this debate...both mediums (cds and vinyl) are doomed...to what you ask? to laptops combined with serato scrath live...
no more cd, no more cases, no more vinyls to carry....simply have your laptop...and your cd players (denon) or tt's (whichever you prefer) and you're set to play out.

possibly i did not make the question clear. it has become the shitty CD vs VINYL junk.
my original doubt was CD+Vinyl [VS] Just Vinyl
how many vinyl purists are starting to carry 20 cdrs with them ? thats what i mean.

Man Vinyl and CD's aren't doomed. People still sell Vinyls from 1960. My parents only buy classic rock albums in Vinyl, and I am sure they aren't the only ones. And especially with trance, there are alot of people who buy vinyl, and CD's, because they having music in physical form instead of 0's and 1's (Binary code) on a laptop or mp3 player.
I like to catalogue my CD's and Vinyls. I have 4 CD racks all filled up, and now I am starting my vinyl collection. And I know it's not just me, alot of people like to collect.
And as long as people enjoy collecting, vinyl and CD's will never die.
It would be gay for people to say, "Yo wanna see my song collection?", and all of a sudden they whip out there laptop and show them their damn playlist. It just doesn't have the same effect as having a whole wall filled from floor to ceiling with vinyls and/or CD's.
