i built mine around a specialized p.3 frame. the rest is all pieced together. marzocchi fork, avid discs, sram cmpts etc. i love the thing. some of the riding in korea is awesome. my only problem is i work too much.

That looks pretty slick Ian - looks sort of like a Dirt Jump type bike...as far as I know those frames are smaller for that. My frame is 18inch and im 6'2 ...so it can't be that bad. I'd like disc brakes too but I can't fit them on my hubs or frame - so I have the Magura's instead

Thanks for the compliments on the bike. Here it is in action earlier this season (I'm the one in front ).



As far as trail riding goes, I've never really gotten into MTB, but I'm going to attempt the cyclo-cross season this year. Wish me luck.

You can get some platform pedals with some clips integrated into them.

But yeah falling when you're still clipped in
It's actually happened to me only once. Like the first week I had some.

Takes a little getting used to ; after the first uses you might feel like you want them to be the least tight possible which helps in bail out cases


But really when I was commenting on the pedals it wasn't because they werent SPD's etc .... but its cause they really look rubbish
Sorry ian^ mate but it looks like you have reflectors on your pedals and I'm not aware of high quality ones that have that extra sexay feature

I just bought a new mountain bike a couple weeks ago with my best friend. We both purchased North Face, mine being "Namotu" I can't find pictures of it anywhere. It's a 17.5" frame. It cost $260 marked down from $600 at Dicks sporting goods.

We both essentially know nothing of mountain bikes, just wanted to have a bit of fun which led to impulsive "ohhhh! look at this red one! or what do you think of this olive green? Let's both get colors that match!. What should we name them?!" which determined our spending.

Yesterday morning we did 4mi and it felt grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeat!
