The ttx's i had were (they were the first version), thats why i sold them for technics. Good decks, but the .1% pitch is awful for really long mixes like trance.

I dont know if they have fixed it in the second version of the decks, but i personally guarantee that the ttx1's have a digital pitch that increments in .1%. I HAVE PERSONALLY TESTED IT. I also read somewhere that the numark techs admitted that the pitch was not infact analog but was digital, and that the resolution was .1%, will see if i can find it.

"I sent an email to Numark Support and, just for all of you to know, they confirmed to me that the pitch is digital in .1% increments. IT´S NOT ANALOG. However, I already got used to it and I´m know happy with my TTX."

do you guys have v1 or v2? have you got 2 of the same record so you can test? I'm pretty sure the pitch is digital on all ttx's but they may have increased the pitch resolution for revision 2 of the decks, i'd be interest to know.

is the torque 3.7? that would be version 2. Maybe they did change it. and as for the comment about being shit at mixing, i can mix fine on both techs and numarks my mate who is super pedantic about perfect mixes absolutely hated my numarks because every 10 seconds or so the record would go slightly off time and you'd have to correct it, i figured it was just my shoddy mixing until he complained about it too, thats when i did research into if the pitch control actually was analog.

no the 3 torque settings r 2.5, 3.7 or 4.7 kgfcm its got a new DSP Motor Control System aswell whatever that means lol.
i honestly dont get that trouble though with having to correct all the time i sometimes do but thats not cose of the decks its just me being shit.

its like all decks with displays. there is just a sensor on the spindle which monitors the diffence in speed the platter is turning. its like a disc of metal with slots in it and a lazer or something measures the speed the disc is turning and controls the display. the slider controls how much voltage goes to the motor and is pretty much infinate.

well maybe they did change it then, it would explain why there are always people arguing about it on the internet, i just assumed people were crap and couldnt tell there was a .1% pitch resolution, i know i couldnt when i started mixing

Not all decks with displays work like this, and no (good) decks work as simply as the slider just controlling how much voltage goes to the motor. Decks have a feedback control mechanisim to ensure they are spinning at a constant rotation (and all those electronics and control lectures i thought would go to waste ). On 1200s there are coils of wire to detect the position, i assume this is the same with other decks
