dude what is the story cuz i misunderstood, then.

you have a comp and it doesn't work with it? why? old comp/broken? cause they way i understood what you said was that you have a sony comp that u modified and the warranty is void now. I-tunes worked for this old mp3 player i had.

Also, when i had my older SanDisk mp3 player all i had to do is connect it to the comp, and it would read like a digital camera on windows XP since XP doesn't require too many drivers. So there'd be a folder in My Computer, and u just drag it unto there.

Well, she bought the Sony NWHD5. We installed it on this computer (my own), and it worked fine. She took to her own home, and it kept getting an error like this:

"omgjbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"

Anyway, I just want to know of an alternative to the one provided with the Sony NWHD5, so that I can transfer files to the player.

I don't think it's possible to just plug it in and drag files to a folder. I'm pretty sure you need an actual application to do that.

They fixed the Sony NWHD5 problem, Sony reluctantly sent them an an update they needed. Problem solved.
