About the X-Fi - don't bother. I don't care what the magazines gave it, the fact of the matter is that it's a consumer-grade sound card that they're charging semi-professional-grade prices for. Sure, it's got pretty software and a few more ins/outs, but that doesn't make it any good for production. These PC magazines don't have a clue about what matters in that area.
