Fortunately for them, I believe they limit the amount of downloads per day, so it's going to run out when too many people start using it.

relax...since they are making money on selling otherwise free shows that they paid nothing for i dont see the harm here. If you want to defend anyone it should be the owners to the rights of these shows, not the guy ripping them off and making money from them.

Are you daft? They're paying for the servers and the bandwidth, and considering the size of the files they make available, it's a LOT of bandwidth. Their subscription price reflects the fact that they are not trying to make any serious money from somebody else's work - they just have to pay the bills.

Besides, no one owns the rights to these shows.

If there are no copyright laws to adhere to then there should be no worries.

All this extra traffic from TA.com could be translated into internet ad dollars (if the site owners are savvy with online advertising). This is a niche market coming to get downloads (i.e. TA'S)....a good deal of potential revenue lies in the fact that they can start selling ad-space on their site with all the extra eyeballs from TA.com.
Additionally, the extra traffic should help them increase their organic search engine rankings if they are on top of their SEO efforts. The search engines spiders flock to sites like crazy that show spikes in traffic. If the webmasters are smart they can easily capitalize on the traffic and cover the cost of the small spike in extra bandwidth cost.

Wtf... their site doesn't make anything from ad revenue, it sells subscriptions.

Are you suggesting that a spike in freeloader traffic is okay because they can offset the cost by bothering their paying customers with ads?

Give me a fucking break... it's amazing the extent some people will go to to excuse disrespectful behaviour.

That's exactly what I'm suggesting.....either that or doing it organically like I mentioned, which won't cost them a thing nor require ads.
So give ME a fucking break....

LOL, how can you possibly justify that? That people should be allowed to essentially steal from a business without restraint or guilt because the business can pass the cost onto their paying customers?

Actually, come to think of it, that's typical Canadian thinking. I should get everything for free, let someone else pay for it...

Right... they're already 4th on the list when you google "essential mixes", and the first two are on the BBC Radio One site... how much higher can they get on the search results?

I dunno if this is still available...I logged in though with your account, and I clicked on the mix archive info...it said there should be a button at the top right corner saying "mix archive" where you can look at the mixes and then click on them to download...couldn't find the mixes. All I could fine was the info, and I found a link to a mix archive but you couldn't click on them, it was just a list.

i concur.

if you do it, do it, but dont try to justify and make it right.

and just bc a company *could* start placing ads w/ currently paying customers, to cover the lost revenue, doesnt mean that they should have to!!! thats ridiculous.
