Hell if im out socially, i use off the shelf plugs with a NR rating of 50....which is a hell of a reduction (and i believe the highest rating you can buy???)
And due to most systems being STUPIDLY loud- i can still hear things clearly.... In every single club I have ever been to, the more hearing protection the better as far as I am concerned.

The minute i finish mixing, out come my custom -15dBs, and in go the foam beasts until i am outside the club. Both sets live in my headphone bag at all times, so I never forget them (unless i forget my headphones in which case im fucked anyway).

I have friends who have those ones pictured, and they just cut the ends off so they can use headphones with them. No different I am told...but up to you if you want to try it.

not saying you don't know how to insert an earplug inertia but make sure you pull your ear up real well when you insert them!

fine. i'll say it.

i don't know how to insert an earplug. i've never done it before.

there.

that said, yeah, i'll make sure to nearly rip them ears off next time, see if it improves.

on those plugs, the music fidelity is very nice. noise reduction of 20dB, and i just tried mixing with em. nothing seems to be wrong. you might have to adjust them from time to time, as the stick out part may cause it to pop out a bit after a little touching with your phones.

these things rule. i recommend em.
