I agree to a point. I always love to sit there and just see how a DJ works. But I think it has evolved from just seeing what the DJ is doing to the DJ showing his appreciation.

A DJ who throws his hands up at a breakdown or jumps around energetically will undoubtoubly give energy to the crowd because the crowd senses that the DJ is enjoying himself, and vice versa. They feed off one another.

There's something about dance music that is so wonderful though, the ability to make anyone move: be it jump around like a crazy banshee or a head nod or foot tap. It's there to insinuate and bring out movement in people.

I always try to get a vantage point of the DJ somehow, be it from the floor at Guvvy, the DJ booth at Republik, etc. I always want to see the DJ do his thing. Maybe it's because I'm a DJ and I like to see how others do their thing, I don't know. But I will always go for the music before anything.

i like to watch the dj sometimes, but only when it comes to what he is doing technically. I dont really care about how he looks, how he poses, nor how he winks. Mostly though i just go to have a good time.

If dj worshipping is "evolution" then i wish we could have stayed in the dark ages. LOL

Basically I choose whom I go to see/hear based on their past performances or recent sets I've heard, like Ferry Corsten, I almost always enjoy all the tunes in each set he plays.

I go to hear songs I like hearing.

i go to HEAR a dj, cos if the music sucks, why would i be there?

but sometimes i like to see them as well

but i do say i'm going to "see" so and so...same as if i'm going to a concert. big deal.

I believe saying that, "I am going to hear a dj", is just odd.

Did ever stop and think that some people get really hyped because the dj actually plays what they want? Yes I love Oakenfold, you may not. But he consistantly plays the tracks i want to hear. Is that not the job of a dj, to play tracks that people actually want to hear?

I get super excited about DJs because i finally get a chance to 'experience' in person, what i have only heard through my computer speakers.

People still go for the party, for the fun, and vibe. If we start chanting TIESTO, or OAKENFOLD, its because we are enjoying their set, get over it. Sometimes a DJs sound just hits you so deep you need to chant, cry, go histarical. The music is a journey, and some DJs just take you through that journey better than others.

the job of electronic music djs was to play the songs that people want to hear but dont know yet. A long with some favourites. Now its become a bad thing if less than 80% of tracks played are not on someone's ipod at home. Thats just not right. When i go to hear a dj i go to hear new fresh amazing tunes, not some human jukebox.
