I think that was also the big idea behind apple's takeover of emagic, they wanted to increase mac sales
This actually isn't really true, there is a small group which indeed got a mac in order to be able to still use logic.
The majority either stayed with logic 5 or changed software as far as the numbers tell (I've seen some figures on some site about a year ago showing this move was really bad for apple). Well anyway, now would be the time they get back on that decision, as it was the wrong one. They've lost too many logic users, and this is the only way to get them back. That is, if they haven't lost some logic fans permanently already.
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

it depends how you look at it
macs are changing to intel chipsets..... soooooooo you can download OSX Tiger, install in on your PC, then install Logic (providing u can find the right drivers)
I had Logic Platinum 5.5 on PC and I did not jive with it. Not only the interface looked outdated, I couldn't work as fast as I did in Cubase SX. It's all about taste and how you work. Some people work better on Logic, some on Cubase...that's why different was made, hehe.

it absolutly depends on your workflow. the "best" will always be the one that you like most.
i'm in the music creation as a hobby since days of windows95 and have tried a lot of things. now days according to my needs and workflow (which has changed a lot since then) i use Logic.
