And that's basically the story with Apple - make it look expensive, put lots of chrome and pretty colours on it, then charge three times as much as other products which actually work a lot better.
I like Apple but they've been getting really stupid about the whole iPod/iTunes thing. All of their "i" products starting with the iMac were just built to look cool and sell well to the dingbats who colour-coordinate their spiral notebooks and can't even tell you what car they own other than "it's red".
To me this is just another useless and totally unnecessary product that people will buy just for the sake of bragging and showing it to their friends. Since when is owning a mass-produced product something to be proud of?
