Ok finally home from work and can give a little more coherent opinion of the show...

Marcus Beier > Max Graham... BY FAR!

...and dude, I love Max Graham... but I have to be honest, his set for Frisky was quite poor... The tracklisting was just awful, the mixing was quite good, but his choice of tracks leaves a lot to be desired, particularly:

Deep Dish - Say Hello (Angello and Ingross Mix)
AvB & G&D - Zocalo



Weren't these tunes either bad or overplayed months ago? I mean I don't HATE either track, but come on, Max, where did the love for good house music go? Plattenleger was AMAZING! And the Mix Mag disc was quite good as well, but this just left a lot to be desired.

Major props to you Marcus for keeping your set in your own signature style of funky, dirty sounding prog house, I really did love it, and you always add your own flair to shit, and I've got a ton of respect for anyone who can define their own sound as well as I think you have. I have yet to see/hear a bad set from you.

i dont mind zocalo...and deep dish angello mix is rockin.

set was made a while ago too...i dont make sets specifically for each radio show...i make a monthly set of whatever is new and being played and the radio chooses what to play (july aug sept whatever)

what is plattnleger anyway?

i guess it just wasn't a good month for the style you like.

No worries Max, it's not like I'm going to go all "TA" on you and start ragging you to shit! I just wasn't feeling this mix much, I don't know, I'll give it another listen at work tonight and maybe be able to provide a bit more well thought out and constructive criticism. I guess the bottom line is it just wasn't what I was expecting to hear from you. Like I said, the mixing was tight, and the set was well programmed, but after that set from Plattenleger (Which you apparently don't even remember playing ) and the MixMag disc I was expecting some serious Max G house!

And as far as "Zocalo" and the Angello & Ingrosso remix of "Say Hello" go, these just aren't tracks I dig, so it's not a slight against you, I was just suprised to see them dropped in a set by you.

Now get back to Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit for some live action! Canada isn't that far away



























I wish I was big enough of a superstar DJ to just throw a set together once a month and have radio shows clamoring to play it out...

Thanks for the compliments Rob, and while i have heard some better MG sets, i was impressed by the set provided, especially two (stranger) tracks near the middle, dont know the names.. Max, i was under the impression LIsa was sending the October one or something a bit newer, but either way i am greatful for your involvement, and welcome you to guest on the show anytime you like. Your deejaying, and after meeting you in Detroit, personal character are something i have much respect for. THanks again for joining the show last night, and to the nearly 500 peeps that listened in with us, thanks for your support. Hey Kelly, i was talking about hosting/posting my set...i dont like to post other deejays sets without their permission, perhaps max can provide a link to the set for download, or with his permission i will try and host it when i get some time...
