Ok Skipper, someone else started this thread to hear opinions and people have given them and you're basically saying their opinions don't count for one reason or another.

If you insists that Toronto does have a scene, that's fine, but perhaps that scene is only limited to those who are hardcore into the music and what not.

Where as in Montreal if you were to ask someone on St-Catherine's or another big street where they could "party all night" they'd be like "Uhhh, Circus, Stereo, Aria, Red-Lite in Laval..." Plus they may even tell you about after parties or pre-parties here here and there.

Basicaly what I get out of people not "knowing there's a scene outside system and guv" is, there may very well be a scene but if it's hard to find then perhaps it's kinda small.

"Toronto scene" is an oxymoron.

why is this continuously brought up?? who cares.. each city has their own scene and whatever that may be so be it..

Here is the way I see it.. people who don't like Toronto won't come here and people who don't like Montreal won't go there.. simple!
These are the same opinions that have been mentioned in every other thread about why Toronto sucks.. so be it if that is their opinion.. why keep mentioning it in another thread to get bashed again if it bothers you so much. It is a repetative answer that will always be there so stop worrying about it..

Yes, because you can't comment on the toronto scene (and expect to be taken seriously) when you have only been to one club.

I expect people to discredit my opinion on Montreal because I've only been to aria and unity.

that is like saying "I went to texas once, and that makes me an expert on what is going on in the whole country!"

Toronto has a HUGE scene. We have tons of up and coming DJs - who enter DJ competitions, who get gigs, who bring something new to our scene all the time. we have small clubs that book new, non-top-100-DJ-list DJs all the time to expose us to new sounds. We have quite a few record stores that do very well selling all kinds of genres of music. on any given night, except maybe Monday and Tues, we have jammin parties happening all over the city. do they all have tiesto playing? No...but the music is good, whether it be local or international.

I'm not here to say that TO's scene is better, I'm just saying it's THERE. And as someone who is heavily involved in it, I am pretty confident saying my opinion should hold a bit more weight than someone from out of town who has only been to the guvernment.

Skipper I think you're turning on Kendo a little too quickly. The guy wasn't saying horrible things about Toronto, he was merely posting his opinion and to be honest: I think he presented it pretty respectfully.

Everyone has a right to have their opinion. I agree about the pushy pretty looking clubbers who don't know who the DJ is though. It's sort of the same thing at circus though, and it will exactly like that when tiesto will be there.

i find it funny that MTLTA comment on the scene in their own city when only 3 of them even go out anywhere.

i think i have been to more parties in MTL, then some of these people.

Toronto club scene is very strong on all levels.

Not only that, but why is a person from TOTA asking MTLTAs on the scene in Toronto?

Why not ask the people in Toronto that actually know the scene in said city?

Come on skipper

You're the worse sport i've ever seen

Anybody who says something that isn't exactly what you would say is an idiot and haven't seen anything in his life. Whereas you've seen everything and done all thing. I've tried a couple of times to get you to think outside of you comfort zone and you've never done anything that prove what an half-minded person you are. No one needs to even go to Toronto to know that, if there is a scene, it's not nowhere near as healthy as the Montreal Scene ! Toronto scene, whether you like it or not, for most people, only consist of the Guvernment, the system and Boa.

Hey Skipper I made it clear the basis of my comments were on the fact I'd only been to Guvernment 3 times. My opinion of the overall scene as far as clubbing and afterhours applies to Vancouver and Toronto though.

I've lived in Vancouver 15 years, Montreal 7, I know people that have lived in all of the cities, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal... and no offence but the club/afterhour scene -IS- much better in Montreal. I think the fact the city is Montreal in itself makes it more of a laid back, "Hey let's relax and party together in peace!" type of attitude. Yes, you might find that in some clubs/lounges in Vancouver and Toronto but the overall atmosphere not just in the party scene but in business is more fast-paced and uptight. Part of why I haven't left Montreal to work in NYC, TO or back home is because I don't want to leave the lifestyle.

Personally I think there's too many gangster Asians in both Toronto and Vancouver that poison the club scene.

Stereoprincess, I'm -guessing- that you're Sabrina, and I'm hoping you're not implying that I don't go out in the Montreal scene. I'm probably one of the least bias partiers in Montreal considering I don't hate Circus to death and still frequent all three downtown afterhours on a weekly basis... along with a visit to Redlight every few months.
