Extremely nice melodies, they remind me of ROsnki Speed remix of sonorous protonic. It's got a real nice vocal manipulation. I wish I could get this voice pack. But I obviously dont know where to find it.

Anyways, I love the tech psy style you have approached with this song.

I could dance like a crack monkey to this

One of the first thing i noticed was that the vocals need some slower attack to it to make it come in more gentler (example: at 1:36). Vocals are working well, but just need to do a bit more work to it here and there.

I like the gritty sounding bass, sounds real cool. Personally, I liked the more techy kinda sound in the beginning and the end than the middle melodic part. This is just me though, because I've just heard too many of this type of melodic trance.

Very wonderfully made, otherwise and great job with that track

nice driving trancer pho mo

this song has a feel of urgency to it - it would be awesome on the dancefloor.

Sometimes, when many layers are playing at once, it can be difficult to distinguish sounds as they are quite similar - maybe some more EQing could fix that up?

Have you made a decision about the vocals? I think the song would benefit from their absence.

Overall, great track with TONS of energy!

The thing I realy enjoy about it is the whacky bassline in combination with the sub-bass. But I think maybe you should spend some time practising tweaking synths for lead sounds.

When the vocals go through the chopper gate it sounds slightly out of sync.

The synths sound a lot like the ones you would get standard with Cubase or something else. You can do some good things with them but bitrate on them is low and they tend to sound tinny and synthetic.

Overall the lead loops you use aren't my favourite. Also elements seem to stop and start on Q at the first beat, might be a good thing to get some automations fade them in or on a filter sweep.

Anyway, i'm not always this critical, must be the time of the month.

kind regards,

Charlie D

Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

I changed the link on the first post as well

Thanks everybody for the feedback, I've been working hard to incorporate all your ideas. I've done too many changes to list but the major change is this is full a club version instead of the short radio edit I put up before. A lot of the rough edges have been smoothed over, and the mid section of the song builds a lot more than before.

The vocals remain untouched so far, I'm currently sourcing a vocalist to replace Doru's excellent samples. Plus I need to do work on the main synths.

I hope you like, and any more feedback on this mix would be greatly appreciated!

I'm really digging this track. It sounds great but I do believe it could use a little more depth in it. Maybe making another bass to deepen the mix a little more. There is a little too much high end frequencies that give it an edge. It could also use maybe more of a breakdown for more power in the later end of the track. Actually now that I think about it...a more complex melody expanding on the current one would help to make the track sound more full. That's just what I think. I love the track though. It's my kind of music

could be limited by a few db to give it more power.. that's not a huge deal

i like the synth at 2:10.. a little thin

melody is ok.. just ok

I like the hats you have going at 3:30.. clap sounds out of place.

the gate you have on the vocal at one point sounds funny.. (plays at 4:00 for example)

overall.. i give it a 'meh' ... not bad... but certainly not great. I wouldn't recommend doing much more work on it since nothing jumps out at me and screams "play with this idea more"

Thanks everyone for listening and the feedback. Here is the final version :

[p.e.g] - System Shock( original mix ) 192 Kbps full version

I did lots more work, mainly on the mixing and synth sounds, but overall the melody wasn't inspiring enough to add new layers or go completely nuts on the production minutae etc.

Overall I'm pretty happy, it was a good experiment using Cubase in a different fashion, i.e. using it more as a pattern sequencer than a linear one. The workflow was really smooth and hopefully it means future tunes will be even better.

Hope you enjoy the tune anyway!

what are you doing!!! not planning to sign this? well, i guess it was very generous of you to give out the full.

vocals are a bit too loud, imo, but the song has a great deal bit of energy, which i'm liking. the lead is pretty good... but nothing compared to "chiba"

but overall, very solid production, badass bass in this one.

[ETHEREAL'S SEAL OF APPROVAL] lol

I like it phill, no real qualms with it.. I can't compare it to Chiba since not every song out there must be some instant bomb . That said, the main melody didn't really inspire me or keep me interested.. the sounds you have going are quite nice in this one and looking forward to your next tune.

Keep it up, bud!

This is a lot better than the first mixdown you gave us, totaly different even. My last post was based on the first mixdown, you seem to have done a lot of work since then. To be honest I thought you where a bit of a beginner with the first link you gave us, but this is totaly different.

As far as sound quality is concerned it has improved a lot. But I still think as far as the melody is concerned it is still a bit lame. Effects and percs great work. If this was my tune I would go on to the next one and put this one down to gaining experience. I wouldn't change my MSN handle to 'I'm gonna be famous!' yet.
