oh please. he is the embodiment of everything that the DL series is about. he's complicated, torn, and ultimately more human and realistic than any fantasy character ive ever encountered. plus he was ridiculously fvcking tough and thats just cool

the "low" (*sniffle sniffle* ) shit he did just added depth to his psyche and made him more interesting than some f'n kender that just wanted ot be "wished" into a pond

one part i remember is when he takes his nephew into the "other realm" or whatever, i cant remember what its called, and he goes "my boy, you will need robes much darker than those if you are to accompany me..." or something, i thought it was kinda cool anyways

i just finished reading a feast for crows. my god some of the characters are the most traiterous, manipulative, conniving, backstabbing, vile creatures and i loved every minute of it. once again george r. r. martin managed to do things that i did not expect at all.

i liked it when he murdered tas' gnome friend, when he left crysania in the abyss to die, when he left his brother and friends to die, when he destroyed the world, when he burnt holes in his apprentice's body. hehe. raistlin's even cooler than vader

I've been a bit of a lurker here for some time, but being the fantasy lover that I am this post made me actually get around to registering an acount haha.

I've (finally) finished english for good (totally owned the exam if I do say so myself) and AT LAST I CAN READ FOR PLEASURE AGAIN! So when I read this thread I decided to check the series out for something to read during schoolies. I must say after reading the first few chapters of A Game Of Thrones I'm already hooked and I fear I'll have to go out and buy the second installment as I don't think this one will last until schoolies.

If you like this style (where chapters are from different character's points of view) you should definatly check out Julian May's series The Exiles. I think the first book is called The Many Coloured land.

I can generally tell if I'm going to enjoy it early on from the style. But with this book I think it was the characters that were just so interesting right from the start. I loved the prologue. I want to go and keep reading it right now but I really should study.

yeah probably a good idea to wait until after exams otherwise once you get into the books you will not want to put them down.
