I think people assume that an artist can put whatever the hell they want on a compilation and forget that they need to obtain the other artist's or label's permission. They also think you should have made the CD for them and forget that there are millions of other people in the world. People are going to bash no matter what you do. That's the nature of the game. There will always be haters and people that will think that they could have done it better.

You guys put Introspection on that compilation...thank you for your support. That was the track that first introduced me to Terry.

I think there are some different groups of people here on TA:

1. the guys that love trance played by the big names like Armin, Tiesto, Ferry and Paul

2. the guys that listened to asot-type-trance in the past but now mean they "developt" their taste of music and think its cool to bash people who still listen to this music whereever and whenever they can

3. the MP3 kiddies that download all promos and livesets they could grab and hear them on their desktop speakers who doesn't buy Mix CDs because in their opinion all stuff on it is too old

of course there are a lot of other groups here, like people who like different kind of styles or people who doesn't like asot-stylish-trance anymore but respect people who still do it.

It seems like some people are never satisfied by any Mix Compilation coming out these days.

But those who have always listened to dj's like sasha etc. and don't like cheesy trance at all should stay in their threads and don't comment cheesy trance cds

well some of us do like to give things a chance...we don't usually end up liking it, but what can you do. atleast we do listen and make a decision based on that...which is probably more than can be said for a lot of the trance fans of the board...

erm... no

some of the tunes ARE rather old & overplayed, by filo & peri's own admission. fair enough this may have been inevitable due to legal shiznazz but that doesn't stop it from being a valid reason why people might be put off it.

you seem to find it hard to comprehend that people criticise- sorry, 'bash' something because they don't like the look of it, as opposed to just for the sake of it, or because they're part of a scene they're not into. if i recall rightly rebel9 commented favourably on the tracklist for a similar sort of compilation by solarstone recently, and you can't honestly go telling me they're miles away from F&P stylewise?

yes the solar stone compilation did seem to have some interesting tracks such as Alex MORPH - New Harvest (Human Blue remix). That is fuckin good and underrated and I was quite amazed that they chose that remix instead of the original which most of the uplifting DJs plays. and indeed that CD also had alot of previously unreleased stuff.

besides I don't put myself into any of the groups Rockabye or Ian mentioned. I don't like Sasha, ASOT, Tiesto etc. I just like quality trance. No matter if its uplifting, progressive, psytrance etc. I find both Sasha and Armin extremly boring nowadays. Both had their golden days. Today there are way more interesting Djs out there. Just because someone is big doesn't make him good.

well yes, but not strictly so as i wasn't singling you out personally (apologies if it looked that way)... i've seen alot of people with that view. that 'bashers' will find any excuse to write hate on something just because its popular or whatever, rather than making a fair judgement on it
