Maddox is actually batshit insane, I remember he went off on somethingawful because they made fun of him and hurt his feelings, or something. Apparently he doesn't take critique too well.

No, he actually got pissed off because a whole forum of people were telling him that he wasn't funny at all - I don't think he's funny at all, and almost no one else does at somethingawful either. There's kind of a higher state of comedy at somethingawful, and he didn't like it when no one found him funny there.

Eh, SA is the lowest common denominator for all internet humor. Higher state of comedy? They're so low-brow you confuse them for pubic hair.
But I still think his "pissed off" thing was just for show.
by 'higher state' he meant funnier. very versatile site with many different kinds of comedy and writers. maddox is just the most popular of a long string of blog clone drones who think they're more funny/interesting than they actually are.
