Aside from whatever happened, if I were a DJ or a producer, I'd stay as far away from TA as I could...these days.

In the last 2-3 years, the general TAer has gone from the attitude "I just don't like the style of that DJ, but I respect them for what the bring to the scene" to the mentally of "I don't like what that DJ plays so he SUCKS."

Most people, or at least the most vocal people, have simply become jaded and deluted with thinking themselves as being a TA gives them this great power in that their opinion matters most.

I do remember the days when there were DJs and producer who completely respected TA and members of TAs, but that's simply changed. I remember when I could happily go around and say to a DJ that I posted on TA (Tons of DJs read TA...even the big ones...whether you know it or not), but these days mentioning that I'm on TA doesn't even come to mind because the haters on these boards have killed the pride there once was.

Not saying I've been a good little boy in all this, but there are some people on these boards who are just WRONG. Then there's the people whose attitude will change from one month to the next just to seem cool. What I can't stand is how I will see threads speaking of how a track is amazing, or how a DJ is amazing, etc etc....and then a month or two later, it's suddenly become popular to talk shit about some track or DJ and those exact same people will completely reverse their opinion and say how that track or DJ sucks. I'm not talking about whether that person is just getting sick of hearing a track or DJ or something, this is about them talking purely about the quality of a track.

When I see threads like that, feel like I'm back witnessing shit going on in middle school and it urks me. It's why I rarely post outside of the West Coast board.

With the situation and Dave's respond to it in that thread, it's one thing for that person to post that log on TA (which was just very immature), then it's another for doing it and keeping Dave's full AIM name on there and making it public, THEN it's even worse that people just started to mass AIM him. I've had Dave's AIM for god knows how long yet I've always been respectful enough to never AIM him...just because I've never needed to and knew that it would have been disrespectul to AIM him when I didn't get the AIM name from him.

Just like when I _HATE_ when people hand out my AIM name. Usually don't mind who ends up AIMing me, but the fact that someone else decided to hand out my AIM name urks me. I hate that!!!

Anyhow, .maybe his statements in his response weren't the best ones ever, but I completely understand his decision to stop posting on TA and even the response as a whole. Pretty sure some frustration was a part of it.

I remember when I ran a _HUGE_ (videogame) forum back in the day and it turned into a very similar audience that TA has...we completely shut down registration, weeded out the trouble makers (cause it's usually the same people causing the same hassles over and over again), and then new registrees had to be approved before posting. Maybe TA should do that. I was known as the forum nazi (literally) but it was the best damn videogame forum on the internet. Still very popular these days, but it's pretty jaded again...I haven't had any control over it for years, so ;p

Can't believe I'm up at past 3:00am. I have to work early in the morning and have to go pay my respects to G&D tomorrow night in my Spundae Founder costume.
