I would take it anytime, but i wouldn't keep all of it!!
20M is more than i need....
All those actors get soo much money, and few of them donate, etc.

{b.s.e.} i share the same opinion....it's funny how you come up with these topics...

it's actually a small issue. there are very very few A-List celebrities, ya know, your Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, etc etc....

If they weren't paid millions of bucks, and were paid modest salaries, struggling actors wouldn't have anything to reach for. Besides, where would all of the money made from the movie go? Blockbuster movies make big bucks? should the producer get it? should the director?

nah... i can live with ridiculously wealthy celebs., they are the minority and something ya just gotta deal with.

i live with it no problem....

if we are going to start saying celebrities should be making the same as janitors, etc.... then we might as well be communists..

i'm not down with that!

Definitely abt...

When you think about how much money studios make every weekend on ticket sales for films, then you should see why actors make so much money.

Millions are made every weekend....so a A-list actor is not going to do a movie for a couple hundred thousand when their employer (studio) is making millions.

Same for Sporting events...

Peace,
Steve

Heeeyyy, i never said that. If that would be true our economy would be entirely different, many things are dependend on salaries. If you cut out the movie industry, many preffesions will be in less demand than before (i'm not listing them, use common sence, rich ppl buy good/EXPENSIVE things that most ppl can't afford...). In reality i don't think that the actors DESERVE what they get, but i would't have it any other way, because than the economical breakdown would be immense...And a communist nation would esily become a third world country in my opinion...

No one is saying that they all have to be paid equally, but there's simply no need to spend millions to pay an actor for providing us with entertainment.

anyway, it's not that big of deal.

You know I would like to turn this discussion in another direction, What about Dj's. Some of the reasons big Dj events cost so much is the demand of money the Dj's require. Paul Oakenfold demands £10,000 at set A SET for Gods sake! Now do you really think it's fair to pay that price to someone who spins records.

I also know from experice that Scott Bond "who is a decent Dj" got paid £3000 for a opening slot at a party a friend of mine put on.

Start adding those figures up and see what their salaries equate too.

It's like ABT said supply and demand you might not be willing to pay the money to go see the lattest Hollywood blockbuster, but if Tiesto or Oakie come to town you'd drop the cash easy.

I think if you were to average out how long it take to shoot a movie and break that down into the basic hourly wage Tom Cruise would struggle to make £10,000 for two hours work.

Yes. someone who gets paid that much deserves it. otherwise, no one would pay them that amount.... the reason they make that much is b/c there are probably at least 2,000 people willing to pay 40 bucks to see him live (myself included)..... does that make me stupid? no, it just shows how much i value the experience to be.

As to how PvD appears god-like to some of you, he could probably get away with commanding 60 bucks a show per person, but he doesn't for some reason... that is what impresses me about PvD.... i know if i was in his shoes i'd take the extra money!

BTW - trintiy: you are in New Orleans, originally from the UK, and a 'Noles fan???!! and did you mean to get the name "trinity"?

ABT, New Orleans orignally, my wife's British so we moved across the pond. Noles fan since 88'. Dad was a huge Tulane fan so he took me to a game to see them play FSU, the noles pulled tons of trick plays all kind of stuff the most exicting game I'd seen at that time. Been a fan ever since!

BTW I was agreeing with you on the money issue, I was just trying to move it to a topic more people could relate to.

And yes its suppose to be TRINITY but I fat fingered the name when I was registering and cannot get it changed. I didn't even realize it to I had Senior status.
