I love this CD. I actually enjoy both CDs now. At first I just listened to the second CD, esp the songs "Sunday Evening In Your Street", "Suddenly The Trees Are Giving Way" and "As If You've Never Been Away" (esp love this one, so beautiful). I recently have been listening to the first CD and can't get "Nobody's Home" out of my head. I also really enjoy the title track "Far Away Trains Passing By". The melodies this guy comes up with are just incredible. I definitely think that his music is "trancey". It's unique for the most part, but if I had to label it, I would classify it as "trance-ambient". It just has a similar feel to it that trance does. His music seems youthful, euphoric, ethereal, and hynpotizing. It makes you feel like your on some island somewhere in the middle of the Pacific or Atlantic oceans, living really peacefully..watching the waves crash on the shore. The picture on the front of the CD really captures that feeling from the music. His other album "A Strangely Isolated Place" is also incredible, but it feels like your in another world or plane. Kind of depressing but uplifting at the same time. FATPB is more homey or down to Earth. |
Great description, couldn't agree with you more.
I think my favourite is still Monday Paracetemol.
