djlithium, I really hate to say anything negative to any label, especially since I am an aspiring producer (but then again, I rarely make a track faster then 135 bpm so why should I care what you think?)
You come off rather arrogant.
Have you ever considered that Paul Van Dyk, the #1 voted DJ uses all digital media in ALL his dj sets?
You must realize that a lot of the producers here (including myself) have been around for a long time, have had multiple offers and even releases on *smaller* labels, we aren't impressed with A&R people that try to talk down to us, especially from labels we've never heard of or likely to ever hear of due to their limit scope of 140+ bpm cheesy trance styles. |
Thank you for your comment. Yes I do come off rather arrogant in a day and age where one can't say "daft" without fear of a liable suit. So screw you if you think that. I don't care. All I care about here is working with new producers who deserve the chance to be heard and an opportunity to get a record pressed because their tracks do the talking not marketing dollars shoved around in magazines "topthisandthatpolls" which are little more than popularity contests and have absolutely fuck all to do with reality. PVD can suck it okay?!
No really. I don't like the guy. But here is something. If he is so hell bent on being all digital then why does vandit still put out records???
BECAUSE THEY SELL!
I have a few tunes licensed off Vandit to other labels and pressed on vinyl in my crate. But that doesn't mean I have to fucking kiss PVD's digital ass. I don't think he deserves any "#1" status at all. Frankly that's part of the fucking problem with where things are at right now. Number 1 DJ?? What kind of lubestroke is that all about??
Dumb asses. Get a fucking grip. You fall for that shit?? holy "brand" whore batman! give your head a shake!!!
You are all whining about this shit because you are slackers and don't want to pay for music but will smile and say "rocking track man" to some guy with some tracks who really needs some objective commentary about his works and not some pat on the back from suckheads who can barely keep two tunes together in a mix and out of the ditches mixed off a glorified calculator armed with a CD burner.
You are the types that will take some guys toon only if its free and lie through your teeth about how you are going to play it and pump him up and help to break that artist through, but in reality the only real meal deal evaluation that still works in providing an artist with an indication that their stuff is good, and has value - is if you slap down cold hard cash and walk away with the hard copy on wax and play it in your sets, your gigs and have it in your crate, and then come back to them and say "dude, that rocked, I want more, when is it going to happen?"
That's how the business for dance music fucking works you ****s.
PVD is god because he is number one and he plays digital so that means that the future?? give it fucking rest. Digital fuckwit.
The more you go down that path the lessser chance there is going to be for more "number one djs of the year" because dance music will have sold itself out so badly, its disco 2.0 all over again.
Short sighted fucking idiots.
