two hours is long for live acts. The only other live electronic act that i can think of that plays more then 2 hours is dubtribe.

Infusion Contusion

If you put Infusion in the mix at your next party, don't fear any dance-stopping-early-departure duds, each tracks is exceedingly pleasurable, inspiring even. Their latest album, Six Feet Above Yesterday, casts the threesome's cohesive skills as the grout holding together the tiles of electro, industrial and breaks. Top this foundation cocktail off with witty lyricism and we've got a smoothly paved dance floor for the dance-rock era. Get a whiff of that new dance smell on November 19th at Eleven50 in Atlanta and on Wednesday, November 23rd at the Avalon in Hollywood, imbibe responsibly.

Infusion's Frank Xavier, Manuel Sharrad and Jamie Stevens play live instruments while utilizing programmed sound bites of every sample from their albums during shows. The result on tracks like “Love and Imitation” and “Girls Can Be Cruel” has an overarching Underworld feel. With laser showmanship they quote Pink Floyd's profuse Dark Side of the Moon on “Daylight Hours.” While “Feeding From the Hand” uses gut-finding Nine Inch Nails-like beats to ask the listener if we're “feeding from the hand of the careless kind.” “Better World” sarcastically accuses, “You pushed us down on the way to make a better world.” Infusion fills the contrarian void Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy vacated while playing to an audience that is no longer or never was listening to either of those bands.

A pearl in Australia's music scene, Yesterday won an ARIA Award (Australia's Grammy) for Best Dance Release and was listed among Rolling Stone Australia's “Best 50 Albums of 2004.” Ahead of the live dance music curve, the band released their album internationally over a year ago yet had to wait for an American label, and audience, to pick them up. Finally, Thrive Music pinned them down and released their shining debut earlier this fall. Armed with suitcases full of praises they toured the UK— Creamfields, Glastonbury, Renaissance and Fabric— and the world, now swinging into their second North American leg. Get in on the ground floor for a Down Under live act that won't need a reality TV show to get people to listen.
